The Congregation of Assisi Sisters of Mary Immaculate (ASMI) was started in Cherthala of Ernakulam diocese,Kerala,India on 2-2-1947 by Monsg.Joseph Kandathil with the charism of compassionate love in joyful service to the needy, specially the leprosy brethren. Now it has got 4 provinces and 3 regions in different parts of the country.Assisi Shanti Health center was started at Narayanpur in 1976.The extension as a hospital was started in 2015 and provides medical and surgical care.
