Fervent Daughters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Fervent Daughters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (FDSHJ) was founded by Mother Marykutty Puthuparampil from Kainady, Kerala, India. She was a member of the Congregation of Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) for 25 years. She was a pious and zealous missionary. In 1972, she had a call within, a call to begin a new congregation with different charisam in order to spread the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. On 18April 1981, she made her vows to the Lord as a fervent daughter of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the hands of Mar Antony Padiyara in the archdiocese of Changanachery and so laid the foundation of a new religious congregation with the charism of family apostate, parish apostolete and perpetual adoration. Now the congregation is having 169 sisters, working in 43 convents and 9 mission centers in various parts of India and abroad.
